Jewish History Colloquium

Since 2017, the Judaic Studies Program has hosted a forum for researchers and interested students to gather and discuss works in progress. Colloquia are scheduled several times a year and include presentations, robust discussion, feedback and a Q&A.

Hebrew Café

Once a month on Wednesday evenings, the Hebrew Café brings Hebrew speakers and Hebrew learners at GW together to converse in Hebrew over pizza. The café is the brainchild of Professor Orian Zakai, coordinator of the Hebrew program.

The program invites visiting scholars to campus for the annual Frieda Kobernick Fleischman Lecture and Max Ticktin Memorial Lecture. Past topics include American Jewish people’s relationship with Israel and European intervention.
